PPA MEMBER ALERT   With the bill allowing association members to purchase group health insurance stuck in the Senate, PPA and its allies in the Association Health Plan Coalition are taking aggressive steps to get S. 545, the Small Business Health Fairness Act moving again. In tomorrow morning's edition of USA Today you will find an ad titled "For Small-Business Families, Politics as Usual Can Hit Close to Home" that urges people to sign a petition supporting S. 545. Even if you have already called the office of both your senators, we urge you to go to NFIB.com/petition and sign the petition mentioned in the ad. This will probably be our last, best chance before the November elections to pressure the Senate into acting. You may also notice that the ad refers to "small-business health plans" instead of "Association Health Plans." This change was made to help consumers understand what these plans are all about: providing more affordable coverage to small business owners and their employees.
