 At the State Convention in March, I ran into Wes Smith as he put the final touches on Monte Zucker's ONE MAN SHOW that he had created to honor this master. Wes saw I had a little point & shoot camera, and he asked me to take a quick shot of the display so he could send it to Monte. I shot the display, unaware at the time that Monte would never receive the image. He passed away a few days later. A couple days later I ran across the photo as I scrolled through my convention shots. There it sat in my camera with no destination. One sad little image of one gigantic legend. None of us were prepared to hear this devastating news so quickly this month and a darkness has covered the nation as we mourn this incredible man. Monte was not only the master of light, he was the light and he will continue to shine in us beyond his earthly existence. Thanks Monte…for you. |
