Editor's Note
WHAT A GREAT PICNIC & AUCTION!!! I spoke to several attendees and by
all reports, this was one of the best picnic's and auctions ever! Good Food
- great camaraderie - and a really good auction. I understand a good time
was had by all and many left with new goodies to use in their business while
others left with a couple bucks in their pocket.
Unfortunately, I was out of town on a trip to the west. In fact, about the
time you all were enjoying the auction, Fran & I were watching a ceremony
at the lighting of Mount Rushmore. We are enjoying a great trip across the
north plains to Couer d'Alene, Idaho. We will be here until July 21, then
over to Glacier National Park, down to the Grand Tetons, Yellowstone Park
and the Badlands on the way back to Ohio. We are in Couer d'Alene now and
I am publishing this edition of the Focus through wi-fi internet access
at a Little Seattle coffee shop! (Ain't technology cool?)
Be sure you get to the August Meeting - Julie Lyle will be presenting information
beneficial to all. She will present ideas and methods to market your studio.
We all enjoy creating fantastic images, but if no one knows what great work
you create, you will have a tough time making a living. Check out the Meeting Information page for details
and see some of Julie's award winning images.
You will notice that some of the background colors on various pages have
been changed. This was a suggestion from members who felt colors other than
black would be more readable. Please let me know what you think of the new
look. Is it better? Or would you prefer black backgrounds? Or some other
specific color?
"Tips & Techniques". Check out this
page!! And send me your favorite Tips & Techniques to share with others.
Last month's tips dealt with methods for removing fringe pixels and a tip

This month highlights a couple alternatives for dealing with Data Recovery.
NEW TIP from Don
Spangler - Learn about a FREE download which will allow you to view RAW

The "Members Page" has been updated to provide the opportunity
for you to include an image with your studio name. This is where the public
goes when they click on the "Find a Photographer" link from our
Home Page. Also, you may now place four of your images in a "mini-gallery"
linked to your studio name. This feature has been added for several studios.
Go check them out. If you wish to add your image(s) to your listing, size
your images to no
larger than 4x5 at 72 dpi .jpg's and attach them to an e-mail to me. Be
sure to identify which image you wish placed on the listing page.
