President's Message:
Hello everyone. I'm not very good at letter writing, but as incoming president I have to do it. It has taken me 7 long years to get tho this position and I will do my best to make this organization the one that everyone wants to belong. PPSO needs to grow and expand to meet the future needs of it's members, but, at the same time, respect the needs of the existing members. If anyone has a complaint, suggestion, question, or whatever, please feel free to call or email me,
anytime (email address Hensleyphoto@aol.com).
We have a great lineup of new speakers coming in for next year, with new ideas that everyone will enjoy. New roundtable ideas, shoot-outs, & who knows maybe even a PPSO picnic are in the works. I'm sure at this point you have other things thay you want to do besides reading this message. So, I'm leaving everyone with this thought:
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's - may the spirit of the holidays be with you always.................

James Hensley, President

January 6, 2003 - Ramada Inn South (Dayton Mall-Rt 725) 6:30 pm Social, 7 pm Dinner
8 pm guest speaker - Dan Messaros

Please join us for our January speaker, Dan Messaros.

In high school, Dan worked part-time for David at Neighbor Studio, printing black and white school picutre packages by hand. Dan worked 4 years in the US Air Force at Lincoln Air Force Baase i Nebraska and worked photography part-time. Dan came back to Elyria and again worked for David. By this time, DAvid started Elyria Color Service and Dan was now printing packages and shooting schools during the day and developing and printing in the evenings. Dan left the color lab in 1973 and stated Messaros Photography in our brand new home studio in the country. We continue to do p[roduction type of photography and Elria Color continues to print our packages. The studio has managed to survice through many ups and downs. We are now doing about 4500 underclass, which is preschool to 11th grade, 250-300 seniors, 40-50 weddings and some commercial work! each year. Dan is currently serving as Secretary on the Ohio Certified professional Photographers Commission, in 1991 he served as president of the Northern Ohio Professional Photographers of Ohio and trustee District 2 rep for Professional Photographers of Ohio. Dan received his Master Photographer in 1996 and PPA certified in 94. Dan is a member of other photography and civic organizations.
Our feature program: Dan will be discussing different types of promotions that have worked well for his studio and how underclass is the lifeline for financial success. Dan will also have his studio camera and will be photographing everyone individually and doing one group shot using his wooden benches. There will be a lot of handouts and hopefully an enjoyable evening by all. ...................submitted article
