Editor's Note
We had a great group for the Special Workshop and meeting last month.
As most of you know by now, our scheduled speakers, Rob Provencher &
James Hodgins, ran into difficulties when they attempted to cross the border
from Canada into the U.S.. Suzette spent an extremely stressful and frustrating
day trying to iron out the problems with the U.S. Border Patrol - to no
avail. When it became evident they were not going to get here for the workshop,
she pulled some strings and managed to get Claude Jodoin to fill in on short
notice. Cox Arboretum was a great facility for this activity, the models
were super and the lighting and posing techniques provided some information
for everyone. Claude provided a great workshop and everyone learned something
about lighting control, measurement and calibrating their meter to their
camera. Click Here
to see some images from the workshop.
Congratulations to our newest member Peggy Steinberg for her work
on display at the Centerville Arts Gallery, Spring Valley Road in the Centerville
Police Station. Also she is participating in the Centerville Fine Arts Market
at Benham's Grove on July 4th.
Don't forget about
the "Show and Tell" table at our monthly meetings and the 8x10 monthly competition.
Be sure to go to Upcoming
Events and check out the complete line-up of speakers and meeting dates
for
2007.There is another great slate of speakers and workshops planned.
CHECK OUT EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS!!!! Many may not be aware of
PPSO's extensive library of educational materials which are available to
check out as a benefit of membership. Go to the new PPSO
Library Page and "check out" (pun intended) the tapes, CD's
and DVD's available.
You may check them out at the regular monthly meeting and return them at
the next meeting. Keep checking back as new materials are added several
times a year.
The "Members Page" has been
updated to provide the opportunity for you to include an image with your
studio name. This is where the public goes when they click on the "Find
a Photographer" link from our Home Page. Also, you may now place four
of your images in a "mini-gallery" linked to your studio name. This
feature has been added for several studios. Go check them out. If you wish
to add your image(s) to your listing, size your images to no larger than
4x5 at 72 dpi .jpg's and attach them to an e-mail to me. Be sure to identify
which image you wish placed on the listing page.
