Gregg has worked at the Ohio Institute
of Photography and Technology a a Department Chairman for Twenty five years.
Gregg has also been photographing portraits and commercial work for just
as long. In 1999 he married his wife Kathie and they started Wurtzler Photography.
Starting their business while working two full time jobs has really been
a challenge. Most of their business concentrates around portrait photography
including seniors, families, and shooting approximately 25 weddings a year.
Gregg and Kathie are both members of PP of Ohio and Gregg has served on
the PPO Board for the past seven years. His work has gained him seven Court
of Honors in Commercial and Portrait, as well as winning the George Edmundson
Trophy for outstanding Commercial entry in 1984, 1991, 1997, 2003, 2004,
and 2006. Gregg has been in the Top Ten Photographers in Ohio four times
in the past ten years as well as receiving the Fuji Masterpiece Award six
times. One of his wedding entries was also awarded the Akron Society of
Professional Photographers Award in candid wedding. At national level he
presently has seven images in the Loan Collection as well as having images
displayed at Epcot. In January of 2004, Gregg became a PPA Affiliated Juror.
Gregg's presentation is designed
for the photographer who wants to enter into the print competition arena.
He will discuss the 12 elements of a merit print and what the judges look
for. Through examples, Gregg will demonstrate how to use the 12 elements
in order to create a stronger image. Gregg feels competition should be a
personal experience between a photographer and his or her image. It's through
this experience that a photographer can help their work develop and mature
to a quality level that their clients can't resist.
