Soft Drinks $ 1.00 (unlimited) Gratuity $ 2.66 (18%) What percentage of your operating budget goes to prints? Do you print all your own images, some of your images, or send it all out to the lab? Is it really a better deal to print your own material? Knowing this number can help you track both efficiency and quality of workflow. In other words, if your print costs start creeping up as a percentage of revenue, something may be out of whack in your work flow. If you haven't actually considered printing costs as a percentage of revenue on a per-job basis, it's an interesting exercise. We all know that some jobs incur problems or special costs as a part of customer service, but there will still be an average ratio of print cost to job revenue that can give you a starting point for improving your business methods, or alert you when something is slipping out of control. Eric Hatch would like to hear from any members who do track this ratio;
he would like to compile an approximate average across the group. Just send
an email, and if we get 5-10 answers, results will be posted in the April
newsletter. Use info@ekhphoto to
