Photography: Donna entered the profession,
you might say, through the back door. When she and her husband moved back
to this area in 1991 he got into the business of photography and subcontracted
for several years for a photographer in Cincinnati. Donna worked at the
studio where she learned the ins and outs of the business and was the primary
sales person. While working there she did over 300 Wedding Consultations
a year.
When Donnas husband of 31 years passed away in August of 1997
Donna was left with the decision of what to do with the business. While
she had some experience with most areas of the business she had never done
the most important thing, which is the camera. So after much prayer, she
made her first portrait appointment and quickly called a friend to ask him
to come and show her how to use the camera. She is so grateful for so many
of her friends here at PSSO for nurturing her along the way.
Donna loves the portrait business and the clients that come into her
life as a result. But she also loves capturing her love of nature on film.
On a nice day she can often be found stalking butterflies in her garden.
Her other favorite subjects are flowers, both in the garden and in the wild.
Hobbies: Donna has several interests. She
has loved to sing since she was a very small child. She can remember singing
her first solo when she was 5 years old. Her formal education was in voice.
Donna sings anytime she gets a chance. Along with that is her love of teaching
and speaking to groups. She often intertwines her singing and speaking together.
When warm weather comes she loves to be in her garden. She always has
plans for new beds and loves the fact that since she uses these for her
business, they are now tax deductible. Donna is also an avid reader. Books
and magazines abound everywhere in her home. She rarely sits down without
something in hand to read.
Family: Donna has one son who is an immigration
Attorney with a practice in the Cincinnati/Dayton area. He and his wife
have given her three precious grandchildren. Next to her relationship to
Jesus Christ, her family is her priority. She is blessed to have them living
in the next block so that she gets to spend lots of time with them.
