Last night at our September monthly meeting members voted for some needed changes in the bylaws and our membership application to broaden the net for photographers in the area. You can now join as an active member or an aspiring member and have access to some of the best professional in person education and networking available in the area. Here are the new membership categories which were voted in for our bylaws and our membership application:
Active membership is extended to any individual engaged in any photographic profession who has taken the required steps to make their business' legal entities within the state of Ohio.
Aspiring membership is extended to any individual just beginning their career in photography. You are endeavoring to learn to be a professional in your photography business. You may be an aspiring member for two years.

If you have questions about PPSO, just call anyone on the board of directors BOARD OF DIRECTORS or you can call me, Peter DeMott at 937-478-6222 or send us an email through the contact page.
Thank you again for allowing me to speak to your PPSO group. There were many great questions and information shared among the group. I really appreciate your efforts in having me come down.
Also, please have the PPSO and members post on Facebook and Instagram their thoughts about the program (and tag me, Simply Color Lab, Savage Universal Corp, Triple Scoop Music, Animoto, Fundy Software and Finao) in those posts, so they can see how much your audience loved the program. If you can drop them a personal note to let them how much you learned and how much you appreciate their support for my programs. That lets them know their efforts in supporting photo education is worthwhile and appreciated.
Their emails are:

Podcasts for continuing education
I personally enjoy podcasts as a way to increase my knowledge in business practices and many other topics. The benefits of an audio podcast is that you are not stuck in front of your computer while you are learning. I have been able to listen to podcasts while mowing the lawn, cleaning out horse stalls, and other menial tasks.
This is a podcast that I sometimes listen to, SIX FIGURE PHOTOGRAPHY PODCAST, and I thought I would share this one. It is just over an hour long, but the owner of the photography business is interviewed about how they went from $1500 weddings to $4000 weddings in a period of about 4 years. The business continues to grow, but how did they do it. The podcast covers motivation, training, learning, workshops, business education and more.
I hope you will listen:

Thousands of people look up Meet-Up groups each month looking for meet-up groups that will interest them and meet their needs for networking, growth, and encouragement in areas that interest them whether that be personal or professional. There are gardening meet-ups, hiking groups, boating groups, programers groups, and there are photographers groups.
PPSO MEET-UP Group
Yesterday, I signed up PPSO as a Meet-Up group for people interested in growing in professional photography. Obviously, PPSO as a PPA affiliated group is not about hobby photography, but is a place to either grow toward becoming a professional or to grow as a professional photographer in South West Ohio. One thing that the advisor suggested was that I invite people to JOIN the group because, the group and event will have less interest since I am the only person signed up at this time. There is no cost to do this as a group member, only as a group manager of events.
Your help needed!
I would appreciate it if YOU would go ahead and sign up to the group as a member (no cost), then also indicate if you are coming to the Annual PPSO Photographers picnic and swap meet-up. You do NOT have to be a member of PPSO to join the Meet-up group and be notified of our various events, however some events do have costs associated with them. You can explore more on this website to discover additional information as needed.
Thanks for you help with this.
Current president, Pete DeMott
You are invited to this family friendly event!
Good food! Good company!
Fun location with a pavilion and playground for the kids!
Networking with photographers & swapping stuff
You are invited to this great networking and get to know you opportunity. The event is sponsored by PPSO, but is open to all professional and aspiring professional photographers in the Dayton and Cincinnati area. Do you need to meet some photographers for second shooters? Do you need someone to refer weddings to that you have dates already booked. This is your opportunity to perhaps meet some other professionals face to face and just relax and enjoy some time together.
Do you have some backgrounds that are getting stale or unused, bring them along and perhaps you will be able to sell or swap with another photographer. Do you have equipment that you no longer use? I do, I will be bringing a Canon digital sports camera with several batteries, manual, etc. for a pretty darn low price. Do you want to upgrade? Bring your stuff and trade or sell it.
What do you need to bring?
Please bring a side dish, chips, or dessert to share. BYOB!
PPSO will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and buns. Please RSVP with how many people/kids you will be bringing by July 28, 2016 via Facebook, text 443-717-0013 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org so we know how much food to purchase.
Also if you need an idea about what would be great to bring this is a link to the party organizer online app we have set up for this event. Click HERE: WHAT TO BRING IDEAS and sign up for what you will bring
You can also bring items to TRADE or SWAP with other photographers after dinner.
